Chair steps down at Housing Plus Group

Catherine Dass will be retiring as Group Chair, and as a Group Board member, in January 2026.

Catherine has led the 34,000-home registered social landlord through its first year as a merged organisation. Catherine’s decision to retire follows a long period of leadership, including eight years on the Board prior to the merger. Catherine also served as the Group’s Senior Independent Director during her tenure.

Outgoing Chair, Catherine Dass said “Looking back over the past eight years, it gives me a great sense of pride to see where the Group is now. The Group has grown significantly but remains rooted in delivering the best possible services for our customers and to creating places people are proud to call home.

“The last year as Chair has been thoroughly rewarding as we have put all the foundations in place for the Group’s future success. I know that the Board will go on to ensure that the customer voice is championed, services are delivered to the highest standards and that Housing Plus Group is a great place to work. I now look forward to dedicating more time to my work in executive coaching and other NED roles in the housing sector.”

Group Chief Executive, Wayne Gethings added “It’s been great to work with Catherine during the merger talks and then our first year as a merged organisation. I would like to thank her for the dedication and focus during the last year. Catherine has helped us to get off on the right foot and is stepping down after her full tenure. We wish her every success for the future.”

Catherine will be succeeded by Andrew Burns, who takes the reins in the New Year.
