Money Matters: Don’t let your Tesco Clubcard vouchers go to waste

In this week's money Matters column, we’re reminding you to check whether your Tesco Clubcard vouchers are due to expire this month – and how you could put them to good use.

If you're doing a bit of a financial tidy up before the children go back to school, there's one thing worth checking that could be sitting in your inbox, wallet or Tesco Clubcard account – your Clubcard vouchers.

Some Tesco Clubcard vouchers are due to expire at the end of August, so now is a good time to check whether you have any waiting to be used.

It's easy to forget about vouchers but a few minutes checking your account could uncover money you can put towards an upcoming food shop.

To check If your vouchers are expiring, have a look at your Tesco Clubcard account or app. Your vouchers should show their value and expiry date, so you can see which ones need using first.

It's worth checking even if you don't think you have any because you might have built up vouchers without even realising it.

What's also good about Clubcard vouchers is that you can put them towards your Tesco shop and help you to reduce the amount you need to pay at the checkout.

But did you know vouchers can also be exchanged with selected Clubcard Reward Partners? Using them this way could potentially provide you with more value than their face value when used on eligible days out, experiences, restaurants and other treats.

That could make them particularly useful as the summer holidays come to an end. Instead of spending extra money on a family day out, check whether your vouchers could help cover some of the cost.

But remember before exchanging or spending your vouchers, check the expiry date and the terms and conditions.

If you exchange in vouchers for a Reward Partner, make sure you've chosen something you actually want to use them for. Once exchanged, the new reward may have its own conditions or expiry date.

September is just around the corner now and household budgets often feel the squeeze towards the end of the summer holidays, so making use of any money saving opportunities you already have could be worthwhile – so have a quick look at your Clubcard app.
